Varietals

The Niagara wine-making region has matured over the past 200 years, cultivating varietals that most suited the area’s soil, geography and cooler climate. Hare grows Vidal and Riesling grapes that are utilized in our premium white blends and our dessert wines. All of our other grape varieties come from three carefully sourced and selected vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Hare Estate

When Hare established the Estate, he insisted on utilizing as many historical materials from the region as possible. You’ll notice reclaimed bricks on the exterior walls. Over 1,300 sq. feet of reclaimed barn board flooring is repurposed into shelving throughout the property. The grand tasting room and retail boutique are designed to replicate the footprint of a local turn-of-the-century factory with vaulted ceilings and exposed industrial elements. And for those who join our Cellar Door Club, you will enjoy the walls of reclaimed wine barrel slats, adding to more of the natural elements and materials we embrace throughout our architectural features.
